Back in March, we were invited to give a hand on the solemnisation ceremony of a very talented couple. They wanted a vintage musical themed wedding and that is very apt and fitting since the groom, Kelvin, is a talented drummer and the bride, Michelle, is a keyboardist. Such a lovely pair, these two!
To tease the guests and give them a glimpse to the melodious wedding theme, we came up with the idea of incorporating antique music scores into the wedding invitations. These were handcrafted, one by one, and then secured with twine and sealed with a customised wax stamp! Take a look at the below video at the crafting process!
The wedding reception venue was superb in itself as it was held at Raffles House in Fort Canning Park, surrounded by lush greeneries and features a colonial old world appeal. We styled the solemnization with an old violin and music scores to symbolize a key aspect in the lives of the couple… which is music.
Our favourite part of the styling is none other than… the DESSERT TABLE! Cakes and bakes were from Bloomsbury Bakers. We used a muted colour palette for the dessert table, with a few prominent vintage props like old travel trunks and rustic ladder to make it a simple yet eye-catching setup.
The whole event, from the planning of the details with the couple up to the day itself was great great fun and we’re so lucky and proud to be part of a significant chapter in Kelvin and Michelle’s life!
